This is where it all started - our belief that we could
build a better engineered, better designed, bass speaker cabinet.
With any bass cabinet, it all comes down to vibration. Bass drivers
are much heavier than guitar drivers, and kick out a lot more energy when
they play. That, plus the CRAZY levels of pro amplification in
modern bass rigs, means that the days of slamming some MDF together and
calling it a bass cab are gone, at least as far as we're concerned.
Instead of worrying first about how it would look, or where we could save 2%
in manufacturing costs, we started from the inside and worked our way out.
We ended up completely redesigning our internal bracing system, and the rest
was easy. Our new system uses precisely designed ribs that physically
lock into place within the cabinet panels and form a ribcage around
the entire interior perimeter of the cabinet body. Each panel is
braced by multiple ribs, and all panels ultimately relieve some of the
stress off the back panel, which is the weakest part of any cabinet.
This system is less weight than other approaches yet still creates a greatly
stiffer cabinet. They feel more like vaults than speaker cabs after
they come off assembly. For most manufacturers, that would be enough,
but we don't stop there.
Bass players are notorious for sticking with gear longer than guitar
players, so their rigs typically take more abuse over time. When we
developed the Anvil cabs we knew that we couldn't scrimp on the exterior.
That's why we exclusively use our BlackrockTM polymer coating system. A true
miracle of chemistry, it's sprayed on at high temperature and high
pressure, forming a tough, seamless shell that is more resistant to damage
and wear than any other type of coating or paint. This stuff makes Tolex, vinyls
and the typical "rat fur" carpet coverings look like tissue paper. In
fact, there is no manufacturer anywhere that applies a more durable coating
system than we use. But no matter what anyone tells you (or tries to
sell you), no coating is indestructible. That's why we use all metal
hardware, including the corners and handles, we mount skid rails on the back, and we use only
powder coated hardware, all to help protect it for years to come.
The Anvil series is available in 2x15, 4x10, 1x15, and 2x12 models. All
Anvil bass speaker cabs use genuine Eminence pro grade drivers for the tone
and durability you love, show after show. We specially selected
the drivers to provide wicked amounts of punch and clarity without
overdriving in the upper registers. Anvil cabs are extremely efficient,
and because your amp won't have to work as
hard, you'll keep more power in reserve for transients and peaks.
Which is good because our Anvil 4x10 is rated at 1400W RMS,
so it loves power. The more the better!
We designed our Anvil series of bass cabs to compliment any style of player. These are professional quality cabinets that will handle any venue without
making excuses. Their tour-ready features along with crushing tone,
wicked volume, and sinister good looks means game-over for any other
bassists that happen to playing the same night you are!
